I’m visiting family in Iowa currently and storms passed in the distance last night so I thought it was a good time for a time lapse. The lightning bugs were out too. Here a lightning storm in Iowa heads along I-80 in the distance, toward Dubuque, while fireflies dance in a soybean field. In all, I shot 42 images back to back. Each image was a 4 second exposure at f 2.8 and ISO 3200. I was using a Nikon D750 with a Tonkina 16-28 f/2.8
YouTube post. This is looped a couple of times backward and forward with the final stacked image painted in at the end.

Here is the final with all 42 images stacked.
Here’s a final composite image. Single lightning shot for the sky. 42 images stacked for the fireflies and the ground.
